Hello,
I am an Autism Support Teacher with LIU #12 at York Suburban Middle School. I have worked with children and families with Autism for 13 years. During this time I have had the privilege of witnessing children say their first word, develop self help skills, gain new academic achievements and decrease behaviors of concern. I have also worked with wonderful staff members who started in this field as just a job but then stay as they realize how special these individuals and families are. We've all been touched by the struggles and the joys that we are part of by working with students with Autism.
Throughout it all, Autism York has been there providing education, social activities and most of all support. All money raised through this walk and other fundraisers stays in York and Adams counties and directly benefits individuals and families with Autism. There are no paid board members, no dues to a national organization and no political agenda.
This team is a combined effort of LIU #12, school district and wraparound agency staff members. There are also students from both LIU #12, and York Suburban School District . The team name comes from the Puzzle Partners club at York Suburban Middle School, where students in the Autism Support class and students in the general education setting interact weekly in a variety of activities.

Autism York sponsors many events and programs at low or no cost to families and individuals living with Autism Spectrum Disorder in our community. These include monthly meetings, family social events, a social groups for adults with ASD, a Resource Guide, Lending Library, education and awareness opportunities, the Buddy Project, Special Siblings Outreach Program, and more!
All are made possible through tax deductible donations to Autism York. About 75% of the income raised each year to fund all of these events and programs comes from the annual Walk. All money raised stays here to support individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families in the York area. Thank you for generous support!
